Registration

• Register to Vote:  Voting: South Dakota Secretary of State (sdsos.gov)
  • Print form: VoterRegistrationFormFillable.pdf (sdsos.gov)
  • Send it to your county auditor: South Dakota Secretary of State, Monae L. Johnson (sdsos.gov)

Requesting a Ballot

• There is “no excuse” absentee ballot voting.  Information about Absentee voting: Voting: South Dakota Secretary of State (sdsos.gov)
• Form: AbsenteeApplication_202012.PDF (sdsos.gov)
  • NOTE you can only apply on paper, not online
• Include a copy of acceptable picture ID (SD License, SD Non-driver ID, Tribal ID, US Passport) needed with the application OR the application must be notarized by a notary public.  Schedule an appointment with a notary at Georgetown.
• Mail your application to your County Auditor: vip.sdsos.gov/CountyAuditors.aspx

Voting

• Your signature needs to match the signature on file with the state (e.g. if you use a middle initial or not)

• Ballot must be RECEIVED by election day by mail or hand delivered to your county election official: https://vip.sdsos.gov/CountyAuditors.aspx
