Text and Data Mining Databases

Guidance on using library-licensed resources for text and data mining.

Constellate (JSTOR)

Summary:

Constellate is a web-based text analytics service provided by ITHAKA, the provider of JSTOR, Portico, and Artstor. Using your JSTOR.org account (free), researchers have access to the freely open basic package, including the ability to build datasets of up to 25,000 items. Constellate replaces JSTOR Data for Research.

Content in Constellate comes from a variety of sources: JSTOR, Portico (limited to a specific set of publishers), Chronicling America, Doc South, South Asia Open Archives, and Reveal Digital. Depending on the source, researchers may or may not have access to full text for analysis. At this time, Georgetown University does not provide access to the premium Pedagogy package.

A user-accessible API is not currently available. Access to content is not limited to content licensed to Georgetown University.
