Maryland Province Archives

This is a guide to using the Maryland Province Archives (MPA), held at the Booth Family Center for Special Collections.

Teaching with the MPA

Materials from the Maryland Province Archives are frequently used to to enhance students' understanding of and interaction with course themes. We are happy to work with student researchers who wish to visit our reading room to view archival materials for class and independent projects.

In addition, we are eager to work with instructors who wish to incorporate MPA materials into their class sessions, either remotely or in the Booth Center's classroom, which allows for in-person viewing of primary sources.

Should you wish discuss the possibility of an instructional session using the Maryland Province Archives, please fill out our request form or email speccoll@georgetown.edu.  In addition, Booth's Curator of Collections on Slavery, Memory, and Reconciliation is happy to discuss instructional opportunities.
