WRIT 1150 Library Toolkit

A guide to lesson plans and learning objects aimed at the research skills needed in WRIT 1150 courses.

Welcome!

Welcome to the WRIT 1150 library toolkit! This resource is designed to support librarians and writing faculty in teaching research skills to students. While the lesson plans and assignments in this guide have been designed with WRIT 1150 students in mind, they can be used and adapted in other courses as well.

The lesson plans center on the following aspects of research:

  • Focusing Research Questions
  • Search Strategies
  • Evaluating Sources & Rhetorical Analysis
  • Understanding Information Sources
  • Entering a Scholarly Conversation

To see detailed lessons, click on the Lesson Plans link in the left-hand menu. Lessons can be used in combination as appropriate and can be adapted to reflect course content.
