In order to use Library resources off campus, you need to authenticate with the Library's proxy server. How to do this:
Option 1: Use Lean Library (Recommended)

Download the Lean Library browser extension and choose Georgetown University Library in Settings. When you're on a page with a Library subscription, Lean Library will offer one-click access to full text.
Visit the Lean Library page for detailed instructions and more Lean Library features.
Option 2: Use ProxyGU
ProxyGU Drag the ProxyGU button to your Bookmarks bar, and then click to reload your current webpage through the Library's proxy server.
Visit the ProxyGU page for detailed install instructions and tips on using ProxyGU effectively.
Option 3: Library Website
Use the links in HoyaSearch and on the Library’s research guides, and you will be prompted to log in with your NetID and password:
Option 4: Manually add the proxy string to your URL
Type or copy/paste the following string:
http://proxy.library.georgetown.edu/login?url=
Place this string BEFORE your URL (prepend). For example:
https://www.jstor.org
should become:
http://proxy.library.georgetown.edu/login?qurl=https://www.jstor.org
Option 5: Use Google Scholar or another tool
Several other tools offer redirection through the Library's proxy server. Most are not officially supported by the Library, so we can only offer minimal help -- but you are welcome to try them out!
