Virtual Access to ArcGIS Pro

For users who are unable to install ArcGIS Pro on their own computer or access a shared workstation, ArcGIS Pro is available on Nutanix Frame - a virtual computer lab - through your web browser. For performance and accessibility reasons, you are still strongly recommended to install ArcGIS Pro on your own machine, whenever possible. Your access is limited to 2 hour sessions. Ensure that you save your work and review all documentation on Nutanix Frame provided by University information Services.

To access Nutanix Frame:

  1. Go to the Nutanix Frame login page.
  2. On the login page, click "Sign in with Georgetown SSO". The Georgetown login page will be displayed.
  3. Enter your NetID and password, and then click "Sign In."
  4. Complete the Duo authentication.
  5. The Library Virtual Lab main page is displayed. Click on the ArcGIS Pro icon to start the software.

On Nutanix Frame, ArcGIS Pro can be used without logging in to your ArcGIS Online account. You can also link it to your own ArcGIS Online account to work with existing maps and to take advantage of your credits. To do so, follow the instructions for authorizing your ArcGIS Software. This will need to be done each time you log in to Nutanix Frame as your configuration and files are not saved.

ArcMap is not available on Nutanix Frame.

More information about using Frame is available from the UIS Service Center. Technical issues and troubleshooting questions should be sent to help@georgetown.edu.

Technical Support

Do not contact Esri directly for software support. They will not help you.

Esri offers a variety resources to support your use of ArcGIS products. If you encounter a problem installing, updating, or using any ArcGIS software, please use these resources first:

  1. EsrI Technical Support: Provides a knowledgebase of documentation for all Esri products, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Desktop.
  2. GIS Dictionary: A dictionary of terms related to GIS operations, cartography, and Esri technology.
  3. GeoNet: A free community of users providing ideas and support for cartography and Esri products.
  4. Downloads: A source for the most recent patches and service packs for Esri software.

If you find that you are still in need of technical support, please contact the Library's Electronic Resources & Serials Unit.
