Welcome to the HIST 457 course guide. If you'd like to meet to discuss any of these resources, please schedule an appointment, or email me at jm3102@georgetown.edu

You can refer to the class powerpoint as a refresher.

Find News

Newspaper databases:
You can also look at different online newspaper archives (hermerotecas) by looking at the news tab on the left

Find Books

Play with subject headings (controlled vocabulary used in cataloging) to help you identify resources. For example, if you look at the subject headings in this book: Participación popular y el movimiento campesino aymara

  • Aymara Indians
  • Bolivia
  • Social movements

You can then use these terms to do searches, by placing them in the "subject" field in the HoyaSearch advanced search option.
