"The Trade Compliance Center, the TCC, in the U.S. Department of Commerce's International Trade Administration, is the U.S. Government's focal point for monitoring foreign compliance with trade agreements to see that U.S. firms and workers get the maximum benefits from these agreements."

The AGC/Admin is the source of legal expertise in specific areas of administrative law, appropriations issues, civil rights, collective bargaining, employee benefits, ethics, fiscal law, labor relations, management, personnel, property and travel allowance.

The AGC/ELI supervises and directs all employment and non-employment related litigation brought by or against the Department as a whole, and handles matters involving information law and related issues. The office consists of the Assistant General Counsel and three divisions -- the Employment and Labor Law Division, the General Litigation Division, and the Information Law Division.

The Office of the General Counsel (OGC), consists of five organizations that are concerned with legal review of agency decisions, defense of agency decisions in court and administrative tribunals, internal agency legal advice, and regulation of persons practicing before the USPTO.These five organizations are the Office of the Solicitor, the Office of General Law, the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences , the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and the Office of Enrollment & Discipline.

The Office of the Solicitor serves as legal counsel to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on intellectual property law matters. The Solicitor’s Office also works in collaboration with the Department of Commerce on interagency intellectual property law matters. The Deputy General Counsel for Intellectual Property Law and Solicitor is Raymond T. Chen.
