When adding library materials to online courses, we encourage you to link to our online access and not upload PDF’s. When linking to materials, be sure to add http://proxy.library.georgetown.edu/login?url= to the beginning of the URL for the item.
To make this process easier, article databases will often highlight a "permanent link" or "stable URL." These links can be embedded without adding the URL prefix. The screenshot below demonstrates how to find a permalink in EBSCO databases. While permalinks will be in different places depending on the database you are accessing, they are generally found in the same areas where you save, cite, and export citations.
A sharable URL that is ready to embed in Canvas will look something like this:
http://proxy.library.georgetown.edu/login?url=http://www.jstor.org/stable...
The tutorials below outline how to find materials within the Georgetown Library using HoyaSearch. In addition to these videos, it would also be helpful to locate and bookmark the research guide associated with your program. These guides will point to discipline specific databases, books, and other publications.
To place materials on reserve within your online course, please fill out our E-Reserves Request Form.
If you are looking to add streaming media from the Georgetown Library to your online course please consult our guide on Streaming Media Reserves.
