Media Creation with Generative AI

Media Creation with Generative AI

Generative AI design tools are software applications powered by artificial intelligence (AI) that assist designers and creators in generating creative assets such as graphics, animations, designs, and prototypes. By leveraging algorithms, such as machine learning (ML) and neural networks, these AI tools can analyze inputs and prompts, interpret patterns, and generate a wide range of media and designs.

Traditional AI vs Generative AI

  • Generative AI focuses on creating new content (text, imagery, audio, video, and data, while Traditional AI solves a specific task or problem with predefined rules and carefully crafted prompts.
  • Generative AI uses unsupervised learning and generative models, while Traditional often employs supervised learning and discriminative models.
  • Traditional AI has been around for a while. Think of search algorithms, social media posts specifically for you, and personalized shopping recommendations.

In essence, traditional AI is more about applying intelligence to solve specific problems, while generative AI pushes boundaries by creating new, often unexpected outputs.

Medium Traditional Ai  Generative AI
Focus Task-specific solutions
Content Creation (images, audio, video etc)
Complexity Simple Rule Based Models Complex deep learning models trained off massive amounts of datasets
Output Types Predictive/Analytical Generative/Creative/Unexpected
Scope Predefined tasks     Broad and flexible
Examples Fraud detection, shopping and streaming content recommendations Chatbots, image audio text generation
