Items in the University Art Collection

 

The University Art Collection can be searched via its Web Kiosk site. A search on the name John Carroll (use the search box at the top right) brings back six results, including the ca. 1804 portrait by Gilbert Stuart. Additionally, the Art Collection houses an 18th-century continental silver pair-cased verge pocket watch belonging to John Carroll. (University Art Collection, 1111.298.1), a silver and onyx mourning ring containing hair which belonged either to Archbishop Carroll or to his mother, and a rosary with a crucifix which belonged to his mother.
