PRIMARY DEPARTMENT SERVED: Department of German

GENERAL OBJECTIVE: To support undergraduate and graduate instruction leading to the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees. The program seeks to educate its students to a broad understanding of German linguistics, literature, and area studies.

SCOPE OF COVERAGE:

Language: German and English; other languages collected as needed.

Geography: Germany, Austria and Switzerland, as well as other regions with German minorities.

Chronology: All periods, with strongest interest from the 18th century to the present.
