The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium provides the highest quality health services for Alaska Native people at the Alaska Native Medical Center and across Alaska through training, health education, disease and injury prevention, and rural water and sewer construction.

The Alaska Tribal Health System (ATHS) is a diverse and multifaceted healthcare system that has developed over the last 30 years. It represents the diversity of Alaska Native people. Alaska has 229 federally recognized tribes that live across 586,412 square miles of predominantly road-less land, the underlying reason for the creation of this innovative and essential statewide health system.

All Nations Health Center (All Nations) is one of 41 Urban Indian Health Programs (UIHP) located throughout the United States and has been incorporated as a non-profit 501 (c)(3) community-based organization since 1970. All Nations now proudly offers a comprehensive suite of healthcare services from full medical services to behavioral health services.

For many thousands of years, AI/AN people have practiced the art of medicine and wellness, and native people throughout history have made significant contributions to the public’s health. AI/AN people continue to show resiliency as they cope with historical trauma and distinct health challenges. We embrace a collaborative research model while working with Alaska Native communities, organizations and individuals. At every stage of CANHR research, faculty and staff work with tribal groups and health care agencies to frame research questions, develop methodologies and procedures, and to interpret and apply data to prevention and treatment.

The Mission of the Center for the Ethics of Indigenous Genomic Research (CEIGR) is to lead research, education, and outreach for ethical genomic research in partnership with American Indian and Alaska Native communities.

First Nations Community HealthSource is New Mexico’s urban Indian health center and a Federally Qualified Health Center in Albuquerque. For more than 47 years, First Nations has provided an integrated and culturally competent health delivery system that addresses the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of our community members.

The Federal Health Program for American Indians and Alaska Natives

The Center has teams based in Indigenous communities across the Southwest U.S. as well as a Great Lakes Hub. We are increasingly collaborating with Indigenous communities across the globe, including partners in Australia, Canada and Aotearoa (New Zealand). Our core divisions include behavioral and mental health, infectious disease prevention, higher education and leadership development. We have over 300 team members, over 70% of whom are Indigenous, and are committed to respect and excellence in public health partnerships.

The Keweenaw Bay Indian Community was the first Tribe, nationally, to establish a tribally operated Health center, outside of the Indian Health Service. Our mission is to be a leader in Tribal Health and Human Services by using traditional, evidence based, and innovative strategies that contribute to building a strong, healthy community.

As stated in treaties with tribes, health care is guaranteed to American Indian and Alaska Native people in perpetuity in exchange for the millions of acres of lands—the lands that now make up the United States. NCAI is committed to ensuring that this responsibility is upheld and that the Indian Health Service, Indian Country’s health system, is brought into the 21st Century.

Native American Health Center (NAHC) is a nonprofit, Federally Qualified Health Center proudly serving California’s Bay Area Native Population and other underserved communities. As an Urban Indian Health Project through our relationship with the Indian Health Service (IHS), we are dedicated to providing high quality medical, dental, behavioral health, community wellness, and social service programs.

Navajo Health Foundation – Sage Memorial Hospital, Inc. is a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation. It is the first Native-managed private comprehensive health care system in the country, and has been managed since 1978 by an independent, entirely Navajo Board of Directors. The mission of Sage Memorial Hospital is to provide quality healthcare for the Dine people with respect, unity, beauty, harmony in honor of K‘é an the sacredness of life.

At NIH, it’s a foundational opportunity for our scientific community to listen and learn from Tribal leaders, and respectfully consider the knowledge, priorities, concerns, history, and culture of Tribal Nations prior to developing NIH research priorities, policies, and programs".

The NIH Tribal Health Research Office (THRO) was established in 2015 to ensure meaningful input from and collaboration with Tribal Nations on NIH policies, programs, and priorities. It is the central point of contact at NIH for federally recognized American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) Tribes throughout the U.S. and the coordination hub for Tribal health research activities at NIH.

Indigenous Peoples are the original architects of wellness systems – ways of life that kept us and our environment healthy. We prioritize Indigenous knowledge and traditional practices to improve community health. We seek opportunities to integrate cultural beliefs and practices into public health and health care services.
