Digitization Services Lab

Digital Scholarship Services has an in-house digitization lab and we offer consultations on all kinds of digitization projects. In the Digitization Lab we have a range of scanners for digitizing archival manuscripts and rare books. Best practices in digitization requires specifications on color, resolution, and file formats, and the equipment in the Digitization Lab meet these standards.

Equipment includes:

SCANNERS:

Zeutschel OS C1 overhead scanner, a high-volume production machine that can accommodate materials up to A1 size (approximately 23.4 x 33.1 inches).

Zeutschel OS 14000 overhead scanner, a high-volume production machine that can accommodate materials up to A2-size (approximately 16.5 by 23.4 inches).

Epson Expression 11000 XL, a professional full-color flatbed scanner with an 11x17 scanning area and a maximum 2400 optical resolution.

iVina BookEdge A3, a high-speed 11x17 flatbed scanner designed specifically for scanning books.

CAMERA / COPYSTAND SYSTEMS:

Hasselblad 907X, a medium-format 50 megapixel camera for super high-resolution digitization.

Sony Alpha A7R, 61 megapixel mirrorless camera.

Canon 6D DSLR, 20.2 megapixel DSLR camera.
