This guide highlights primary and secondary sources available in the University Archives for research into the history of women at Georgetown. When these resources are available online, this is indicated. However, researchers should anticipate spending more time working in the Archives with physical records than with digital surrogates.

Researchers should be aware that, given changes over time in both attitudes toward women and in vocabulary used to refer to/describe them, some of resources described in this guide may make for problematic reading.

The University Archives is located in the Booth Family Center for Special Collections on the 5th floor of Georgetown’s Lauinger Library.
