Multimedia Resources

All films on the Arab world or the Middle East, or in Arabic, Hebrew, Persian or Turkish languages are listed in GEORGE, the library catalog.

ALL DVDs are now shelved by topical call number (for documentary films) or by language (for feature films) on the 2d floor of Lauinger Library (see the shelving just outside the Midnight Mug); this collection is now browsable.  If the film you want is available only in VHS format, you will need to request it from Off-Campus Shelving (OCS); equipment for viewing VHS tapes is available in the Gelardin New Media Center on the 1st floor.  All Georgetown University students/faculty/staff may borrow an unlimited number of films for one week; for more information on the borrowing periods, see this page

More information about many of these films can be found by consulting GEORGE. New films are added to GEORGE weekly; the location for the newest films is "DVD Spotlight".

Titles cited in GEORGE are taken from the label or box, thus the romanization used may not be systematic, some have translated titles, etc.
