The approximately 2,700 works with almost 4,500 volumes reflect the broad spectrum of German literature from the early stages of the age of Enlightenment to the later part of the period.

- Deutsches Textarchiv"The German Text Archive provides a cross-disciplinary and generic base of German-language texts from the period from about 1600 to 1900. The text was selected on the basis of a comprehensive bibliography prepared by academicians and commented in detail. In addition, relevant literature and (specialist) bibliographies were evaluated. From the overall list of titles determined in this way, the DTA project group has compiled a corpus that is balanced in terms of the types of text and disciplines represented (for further information on text selection ).
In order to reflect the historical language level as accurately as possible, the first editions of the works are usually used as a template for digitization. The electronic full-text corpus of the DTA is freely accessible via the Internet and, thanks to its processing by means of (computer) linguistic methods, is searchable throughout the available stock in a manner that is tolerable by writing.
