Masters Capstone

Masters Paper Proposal. [There will be a penalty if this paper is turned in late.] This paper (max length 8 pages of text, not counting cover page or Reference list) is designed to help you to identify a Faculty Mentor and begin working with him or her on your Masters Paper. Of course, after finishing this paper you can still make changes in topic or method—indeed you may want to make such changes as you consult with your Faculty Mentor. Your paper should address the following issues:
* State your research question. Identify a question about leadership to which you would like an answer.
* Explain why the question interests you. Would answering this question help you in your career? Would answering this question address an issue that is personally important to you?
* Identify the research method (e.g., case study) that you plan to use to address this question. Explain why that particular research method is appropriate to the research question and for your available resources.
* Describe the steps (and, if you can, a tentative time-line) that you would follow if you choose to complete this proposal as your Masters Paper.
* Write your paper using size 12 (or larger) font. Double space the lines of text. Each page should have a 1 inch (2.54 cm) margin on all four edges. The cover page should include your name, the name of the course, and the date. For citations, add a page of References and follow the system described in the American Psychological Association Style Manual (see pages 50-59 in The Business Writer’s Companion).
* Turn in your paper electronically as an attachment to an email (ReinschL@georgetown.edu). This paper is due before 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 16. If turned in late, a penalty will be assessed for each hour that that the paper is late.
